A taste from the Middle Ages
Did you know that there is a spirit drink fermented from honey? It is an ideal gift for special occasions, but you can shake up your day if you are looking for something out of the ordinary.
Preparation:
In classic winemaking, raw honey is subjected to directed fermentation for 6-9 months. It does not undergo heat treatment and filtration, nor does it add colouring, flavouring or other additives. The resulting honey enhances the cheerfulness.
- It has an alcohol content of 12-14°.
- Its taste varies depending on the type of honey it was made of.
Good to know:
Good to know the difference between honey wine and mead before you start sipping sweet juices. Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. Honey wine is only honey flavored. Therefore it can be said: honey-flavored drink.
